Alloying Elegance
At Amara Row, we believe the magic in every piece lies in the story of its making. The journey begins with pure silver—lustrous and ethereal, yet too soft to withstand everyday wear. To transform it into something enduring, metalsmiths blend it with a touch of copper—typically about 7.5%—creating what’s known as sterling silver, or "925" for its 92.5% silver content. This timeless alloy grounds the silver’s radiant glow with added strength and a touch of resilience, delivering a metal that’s as functional as it is beautiful . Once alloyed, the metal is shaped into art. From designs sketched by hand or dreamed up in CAD, the process often moves to wax—forming delicate patterns that are lost to time in a plaster mold, only to reappear in gleaming silver via the ancient lost-wax casting method . Whether cast or hand-fabricated, each piece is lovingly refined: rough surfaces are smoothed, joints soldered, and every contour buffed to a gentle mirror shine. This final flourish of polishing not only refines the shine, but also reveals the soul of the design—an heirloom in the making, born of warmth, craft, and care . In every curve and setting, you carry a piece of this rich heritage—where pure silver’s poetry meets the strength of thoughtful alloying, and where time-honored techniques meet the light touch of modern artistry.
